Pretty darn accurate, if I do say so myself! I like the subtly to the scales and body texture here, although it could stand some extra ...

Dino paint by PootDamnYou

Official website:
It’s amazing how a 60-year-old product of postwar nuclear paranoia can still be so important to people’s lives to this day. I have a lot to thank Godzilla for, so much to the point that, if I had a gun to my head, and had to declare a religion (ANY religion), I’d point at the Big Guy and say “That one.”

That’s right. My god can beat up your god.

Anywho, it’s also amazing to see where Godzilla is now compared to…man, even 10 years ago. And ESPECIALLY 16 years ago. We’ve essentially seen this character tried to be taken down and twisted into something he’s not, and then rise from the beaten, bruised ashes only when a meek British director reminded everyone that we just need to step back and let him be Godzilla.

A favorite quote of mine, from the series, is the line from Godzilla and Mothra: Battle for the Earth (1992).
"This is beyond our present knowledge or understanding."
This was, of course, in reference to the fact that Godzilla was engulfed in molten rock, and then, in order to intercept his adversaries, SWAM THROUGH THE LAVA TUBES OF THE EARTH’S CRUST OUT OF PURE BLOODLUST.
It’s an essential part of the character - Godzilla is beyond our understanding. Granted, this depends on the conceit of the screenwriters, directors, producers, what have you, but it’s a core facet of what makes the character appealing.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to draw 3 more pages of giant things fighting other giant things before I can finally sleep.

Much love, and keep on’ stompin’.

If I made a bi-monthly podcast, would you guys be interested?

26 deviants said Not at all. I find you painfully uninteresting.

Do you ever wonder what would your Kaiju would like like or those from Godzilla (including godzilla himself), Pacific Rim, or Ultraman (ultras included) look like if they were drawn by Max Flesicher??
