But THAT'S not why we're here today, is it?! Today I'm here to point you all towards a VERY cool web series that's been making the rounds online, but needs support in order to keep being made - the Scifi Japan TV webseries!
These are relatively short vids highlighting various Japanese special-effects goodness, such as Ultraman directors, various tokusatsu events, and of course, a good helping of GODZILLA!
I'll lead with one of their more recent episodes, an exclusive interview with Haruo Nakajima, the man who was (and many say still IS) Godzilla! Check out that boss MosuGoji suit!

Another episode of great significance is the tour of the Tokusatsu (special effects) exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo. This extremely popular tourist destination won't be around for much longer, so this video is the only chance that many will have to witness the wondrous miniatures and props on display from Godzilla films, Ultraman episodes, and even a few Gamera flicks! The museum was put together thanks to the efforts of Shinji Higuchi (SPFX director for the Gamera Trilogy and storyboard artist of EVANGELION), Hideaki Anno (creator of EVANGELION) and none other than Hayao Miyazaki (SPIRITED AWAY, PRINCESS MONONOKE). Many amazing suits are still around, including the 1975 MechaGodzilla AND the 1997 Gamera!

There's plenty of interviews and other deliciousness for kaiju fans galore in these videos, such as interviews with Takeshi Yagi (producer of ULTRAMAN MAX and ULTRASEVEN X, director of SUPER 8 ULTRA BROTHERS) not to mention Toshio Miike, the SPFX director for the new film ULTRAMAN SAGA and art director for...well, just about EVERY SINGLE MILLENIUM GODZILLA FILM AND THE GAMERA TRILOGY.
Here's their Youtube Channel (Gaijin Channel) -

Trouble is that, since the episodes started going up, they've been struggling. Seems as though word's not getting out, and there's a strong chance that they could pull the plug on the show entirely. We gotta' show them how much kaiju fans really care about high-quality entertainment coverage! So spread the word! If you do, perhaps yours truly might be on an episode some day...just sayin'
KAIJU FOREVER!
