So here's what we know:
- Action will take place in Japan, Hawaii, Las Vegas (that's the Mini Liberty, not the NYC original), San Francisco...and SOMEWHERE in the Pacific Northwest?
- Godzilla has been around since 1954...and the US military spent several decades just trying to KILL HIM.
- The MUTO creatures are in the trailer, as the flying one can be seen along with its long hook-like arm.
- There's SOME sort of egg-sack-thing on one of the nukes...could they be MUTO eggs?
- Cranston's character was involved in a nuclear accident in Japan 15 years prior to the film, and smells a conspiracy.
- Watanabe's character discovers some sort of massive fossil underground...

And there you have it :)

- Firstly, everybody needs to get in the mood by listening to this:…

Keep your eyes on that page. Godzilla is coming...TOMORROW.

- Also, take a peek at Empire Magazine's subscriber-only exclusive cover. I literally gasped when I saw this.…

- Thirdly, the embargo on the Godzilla toys from Neca (and supposedly the rest of the companies) lifts on March 17th!…

- And finally there's this little gem:…

...Oh, let's not forget this:…

Looks like we're in for something pretty spectacular.

Seems like the muto might be a Gigan homage, givings its ability to fly and large silvery looking hooks.
GorillaKing18 Featured By Owner Feb 26, 2014

It. Was. Awesome.

The only thing it needed was Godzilla firing his azure heat beam... and a thunderous roar akin to the Heisei Goji. That would have made it perfect... okay, maybe a little fighting scene between Goji & the Muto beasts too. :)

dustyfan111 Featured By Owner Feb 26, 2014
This is going to be epic...except that was a pretty pathetic roar compared to the past Godzilla(s).

If you look closely at about 1:31 in the trailer, the alleged "falling/flying MUTO" appears to simply be a fighter jet. If you look even closer on the left side of the screen, you will see a faint shot of what appears to be gunfire coming from the "falling jet". Also, many other jets are shown falling all around. However, the thing going into the ocean in the next shot is most likely the "MUTO". They simply edited it to appear that both objects were the same thing.

beautiful video man, even better than the one on youtube, thanks for sharing :D

I really love everything this trailer has offered up so far, from the idea of Godzilla on a global rampage instead of targeting just one city, to the scary revelation that he's been around for decades & our govt has been trying but failing to kill him for YEARS o_O....Just drives home just how royally screwed humanity is once Godzilla takes his show on the road and makes landfall, & it doesn't try to place the blame for his existence on someone else like GINO 98 did (makes the film that much more personal for American audiences & strengthens the nuclear threat allegory & the arrogance of man thinking it can control nature, like Ken Watanabe...Oops, I mean Dr. Serizawa :D, was saying in the trailer).

Oh, and the face...Oh man oh man, that fleeting glimpse of Godzilla's roaring face as the shelter doors close at his approach just makes me feel like a kid again, can't WAIT to see him in action this May :D

This film looks freaking epic!!! I haven't been this excited for a blockbuster film since The Dark Knight in 2008. Since then there haven't been too many movies I've looked forward too. Pacific Rim was close though. But ever since Legendary first announced Godzilla, it's been the movie I've been waiting for. Godzilla looks great and I love how we are only seeing brief but unforgettable glimpses of Godzilla. This film is the only film I'm really looking forward 2 this year. I don't care for X-Men or Spider-man at all. I'm for Godzilla all the freaking way. Also Bryan Cranston was amazing in this trailer and I look forward to him in this film.

You think that could be Rodan flying around?

Love the way they're taking the story, with the A Bomb being developed to kill Godzilla. I wonder if he was as strong before, or Still had his breath before? Or maybe the bomb gave him the breath ray.

I'm wondering if Godzilla is "the original" and everything called MUTO is using his cells to have facsimilie kaiju. If so, this would actually be a way to re-introduce Biollante in a manner.

It looks very promising indeed, though going from what's presented in the narration of the trailer, there is one thing that I find that I have a problem with: It's how the atomic tests conducted back in the 50's (which partially led to the original Godzilla's inspiration and creation thanks to the dangers of nuclear fallout from said tests having devastating consequences) seem to be "written off", in my opinion, as having been done with a "noble" intention; that is, they were done to try and kill Godzilla. Now, while that does seem pretty cool at first glance, think for a moment what the implications are: 1) That the atomic "tests"/attempts to get rid of Godzilla were done for the greater good, meaning any sort of negative consequences that may have occurred in-story like they did in real life were justifiable, and 2) The US is no longer the cause for Godzilla (like we were in the original) thanks to out atomic testing, but are now the "good guys" trying to take him out (my point here is that it would have been a much more compelling viewpoint if Godzilla was attacking his "creators", the USA, as we were responsible for making him, albeit accidentally). Now, I could be wrong with how I'm interpreting the narration from the trailer, and maybe the US IS the cause for Godzilla's creation in this film thanks to wonton nuclear testing; they do say something about "we awakened something", though since it sounds like it's coming from Ken Watanabe (possibly), this causes me further worry, as it might imply that THE JAPANESE were responsible for Godzilla's (fictional) creation, and the "good ol' US of A" was trying to clean up their mess using nukes against Godzilla in the Pacific. I'm sorry, but even though I am a US citizen, born, raised, and served in its military, I am NOT all for the whole "US is always the good guys, always the saviors, etc." shtick that Hollywood like to try and pull off quite a lot (not always, but quite a lot), and this just seems like another example of that, as opposed to making Godzilla our fault (which he technically was, originally) and having up reap what we sowed. But like I said, this is all just conjecture on my part, going off what was shown in the awesome trailer. There is a possibility that this Godzilla will still be our fault (I have a funny feeling about those bones they were looking at, i.e. that was the FIRST Godzilla that they nuked/killed, and this new one is it's offspring, hence why it hasn't been continually terrorizing the planet since 1954, and is as big and bad as it is thanks to the atomic "tests"/bombings), but we'll just have to wait and see. Sorry for the rant, but the possibility of changing the US's role in Godzilla's creation really bugs me.
Mecha-GREGOLE Featured By Owner Feb 26, 2014
Actually, save the Heisei series, humans never created Godzilla. We disturbed him, we probably empowered him, but he was always there. This movie seems to be running with that, just in a new direction.

Also, worrying about which nation created/awoke him is largely beside the point. We're all humans, and whoever dropped this particular bomb, WE are responsible for his being here.
DragonofAzarath Featured By Owner Feb 26, 2014  Hobbyist General Artist
It could be that the atomic "tests" were an attempt to kill the "MUTO" and ended up awakening Godzilla. They simply said "they were trying to kill it." Never specifying what "it" is. Though, it's heavily implied "it" is Godzilla.
KaijuDuke Featured By Owner Feb 26, 2014
I think the trailer is implying Godzilla was awakened by us, we tried to kill him over and over (perhaps not realizing the nukes were just making things worse, or that each Godzilla we thought we killed was actually the same beast, only having grown bigger each time from the radiation we fed him), but instead only made him stronger & more aggressive, & then tried to cover up our mess from the public...And now he's finally coming ashore to strike back at humanity (perhaps after undergoing some manner of hiberation in between attacks/mutations or something...Like his mutation process took decades to complete & now he's ready to face us on our home turf). As for the Mutos, I'm guessing they were born as a result of our attempts to kill Godzilla, just adding more fuel to the fire.

So I don't think they're trying to place the blame on someone else like they did in GINO 98, but rather we are to blame for making Godzilla what he is today. Like, maybe the first bomb WAS a test, but after Godzilla awoke we kept trying to kill him but only made the situation worse by making him bigger & stronger & angrier, & created tons of new monsters too. I could be wrong, but I think we are supposed to be the cause of Godzilla's threat once again, & I agree that while I love our country too, I think this film will back a more powerful punch if our use of nuclear arms are to blame for making the crisis worse & creating or empowering/provoking the monster, like rubbing salt in an already open wound. Heck, maybe he'll gain his atomic breath from being nuked just like in issue one of Godzilla Kingdom of Monsters

I think it would be cool if Godzilla were to blame for numerous ships going missing at sea over the years, maybe even being responsible for sinking the famous Battle Ship Yamato. As for why he's making landfall now, maybe he's just finally strong enough to face us out of the water or been pissed off enough...Or maybe our treatment of the ocean has deprived him of whatever his natural food source is and now he's looking for grub inland (a sea monster his size would need prey like giant squid, whales, or massive schools of fish to satisfy him...or other monsters like the Mutos).

What in actually thinking is Godzilla was always around, but the Mutos where created by the nukes we used to try and kill godzilla
PrimeUrsa Featured By Owner Feb 25, 2014  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
I imagine that Godzilla was just minding his own business until the US pissed him off. The nukes still hurt everyone, and made him stronger, and quite probably were used without thinking or regard for human life. Godzilla was a well kept secret back then, not a menace. The dead zilla is how I imagine they will gain info about how the MUTOS preyed on Godzilla's kind, as it is underground. Bryan Cranston's unbridled rage assures me that the government is definitely going to be the guys who screwed up. I'm not worried.

Also, I know Godzilla causes a lot of collateral damage, but how long will it take for them to realize he's just helping :I...
Mecha-GREGOLE Featured By Owner Feb 25, 2014
Hmn. So they really are dropping the dinosaur angle outright, and instead going with a "We dug too deep" origin for him, with the nukes being a part of his story, but not the fundamental force behind his creation.

KaijuDuke Featured By Owner Feb 26, 2014
yeah, I like the idea of him being some mysterious beast we pissed off, tried to kill, but only ended up making him even stronger, AND EVEN MORE PISSED OFF, than before...In the original he was meant to be an intermediary between land & sea life, & with the ocean as HUGE & untapped as it is, its perfectly within the realm of possibility for something gigantic that we don't understand to be swimming around, minding its own business, until we invaded its realm & made it aware of us, gave it a reason to come after us, gave it the MEANS by which to beat us, & created our own hell on earth.

Oh, & I bet those Mutos are offshoots of our attempts to kill him, if not creatures stemming from the same deep sea environment as him.
